Radiant Collective has been a bit mellow lately. But I can explain myself, I promise. The reason for my absence is not that my boyfriend came to visit (!!!) or that I've been sleeping in past noon. No, none of that contributes to this inexcusable hiatus.
It's because I've been crafting. I've been making zines, little self-published magazines with thought-provoking content, for the last few weeks. My friend Francine introduced me to this kind of art and I've been hooked.
I have a gift for all of you lovely readers! My Self-Care for Activists zine can be printed in your very own home for you to read! If you're interested in printing a copy, e-mail email@example.com and I'll send you the file with instructions.
I value the power that zines hold because of how accessible it is to get underground, succinct information out to the public in a timely manner. Self-publishing allows the creators behind the text to say whatever they want in a way that will attract an audience and provoke their thoughts.
In addition to the Self-Care zine, I have one titled I Am But Woman which focuses on the similarities of women despite other identities, and how the sisterhood is necessary.
If you're interested in printing any one of my zines, shoot me an e-mail! I'd be happy to share my art with you.
