Hello everyone! I hope you all had a productive January and are still keeping your New Year's Resolutions in mind! This year I wanted to make a more conscious effort to evaluate what kinds of ingredients I've been using on my skin and hair. I'm trying to be more cautious of the products I use and I urge you all to do the same!
Here at Radiant Collective, I'm all about self care. This can come in the form of social media detachment, exercise, healthy eating, and choosing the people you surround yourself with wisely. I also believe that looking after yourself includes being mindful of what you're putting in and on your body, especially when it comes to skin and haircare.
My nightly skincare routine only requires a few products.
I first use Botanics Superbalm to cleanse my face and take off any makeup (as you'll see in the photo at the beginning of this post, it makes your skin really shiny! Don't be fooled though, when you rub oily concentrate onto your skin it helps to remove any dirt beneath the outer surface of your skin, making it all glowy when you wash it off).
After I pat my face with a towel, I'll use Clinique's pore minimizer on my cheeks. It has a weird smoothing, velvet-y effect. However, over the last couple weeks that I've been experimenting with this product I've noticed that my pores do are visibly smaller!
There are a few different shades of this product. What's super cool about this pore minimizer is that you can wear it underneath your every day makeup. You can use it alone, like I do, or apply before or after using concealer and foundation. I've noticed that it works similarly as a primer would, but it does tend to try out the skin a little bit. Still, I would recommend this as a one time product! After the tube is up, your pores will be visibly smaller and you won't have to worry about covering them up anymore!
Once I'm done with blending the pore minimizer in, I use my all-time favorite Clinque's Dramatically Different moisturizer. My mom introduced me to this product a few years ago and well, I've been using it religiously! It has a subtle scent to it, which is a nice touch.
All of these products have proven to be effective without creating any harsh consequences on my skin. While none of these products are explicitly acne fighting, they all have ways of maintaining healthy, bright skin. The Botanics Superbalm wipes away all the dirt from the day, so I don't clog my pores. In turn, the pore minimizer reduces the chances of impurities getting lodged in my pores! And finally, the moisturizer is a perfect finish to prevent skin peeling.
I'll have an acne fighting skincare post soon, I'm sure you're all with me when I say there's nothing like having a sucky skin day and having to go out in public.
The key to good skin is being kind to it first. Remember, you're your own best friend. And wouldn't you want your bestie with glowing, healthy and happy skin?
Thanks for your attention, I know this post was a little longer than usual! I hope you're all in a good place. Until next post, I'll see you soon!
