Happy Friday, babes. I'm going to do this quickly, because I know you've got things to do and places to be today. Here's a great mask to try out this weekend. It makes a big batch so get your girlfriends, guyfriends, they-friends, and anyone willing to try it out with you!
Today we're making cooling banana avocado masks, or to put it more sexily, bananacado masks.
Here's what you need:
- Half an avocado
- Half a banana
- A blender (or the patience to mash them both)
- Bentonite clay
- An oil of your choice (for anti-inflammatory purposes: rose or jojoba oil, for serious pimples: tea tree oil, for the full treatment: frankincense oil)
You can use a blender or, if you have the patience, mash it yourself. Now mix all that together in a metal-free bowl and slather that sh!t on your face.
I ended up making so much more than I needed the first time I made this - exactly why you should make this with friends. The amount of bentonite clay is up to you, if you want it to be more of a bentonite mask then use more. It's very liquidy because it's a 2:1 ratio of additives to base. If you want it to be more of a cooling treatment, only use a pinch or so. I chose tea tree oil, too, which you can see above.
I loved how the mask dried. It didn't crack, it just absorbed into my skin. It even smelled like bananas when I washed it off - so great!
Alright everyone, that's all for today. Don't get too wild this weekend. And even if you do, be sure to try out this great mask when you've recovering Sunday night.
