Happy Saturday, everyone! As a nice weekend treat, I wanted to share some of my favorite summer skincare products as of recent. Before I can even begin to think about summer makeup looks - and believe me, I can spend hours watching tutorials on YouTube - my first priority is always the quality of my skin. I personally do not feel comfortable wearing makeup over my blemishes/marks because I feel like it makes my skin even more irritated and likely to break out. Here are some of my favorite products for maintaining a healthy, golden summer glow!
I've selected two cream moisturizers, an oil moisturizer, and two lip balms. All these products can be purchased at your local drug store and cost under $15. I purchased mine at Target, and as always links will be provided. Let's get started!
We'll begin with this facial oil because it's an all time favorite. Botanics has never let me down. Their Facial Oil makes a perfect daytime or nighttime moisturizer because it's 100% organic and won't mess with your skin. I usually wear this at night because it provides the perfect amount of moisture that lasts from when I fall asleep to when I wake up. To customize the oil to my personal skincare needs, I added a couple drops of tea tree oil to help with blemishes. I always recommend this oil, it's great! You can purchase this oil here or here.
Onto the next product, Shea Moisture also makes a lovely daytime/nighttime moisturizer. I will frequently wear this one during the day. I started off using their Spot Correcting moisturizer, but grew to love their African Black Soap: Problem Skin Moisturizer. This one has lasted me around three months and I still have a little more than half left. The consistency is a lot thicker compared to the Spot Correcting moisturizer. However, you may find that the Problem Skin moisturizer isn't for you!
This next product is newer to me. I've used Botanics for about a year and Shea Moisture for around six months, but this is the first time I'm trying Aveeno. I wanted to get a moisturizer that would both brighten and protect my skin from the sun, so when I was browsing Target's skincare section I looked for the most natural looking options. I eventually decided on Aveeno's Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer. I think this will be perfect for using underneath makeup, too.
I recently ran out of my favorite lip balm and I was so sad about it. For the last four months or so, I've been hooked on Naiad Soap Art's Vegan Lip Conditioners. I totally recommend them to all your natural lovers out there; by purchasing these you'll nourish your body and support small businesses. Plus, they're only $5. But anyways, I picked up these YesTo lip balms. I decided on Coconut and Pomegranate (which has SPF15). I am really liking the smoothness of both of them so far!
Remember to continue to take care of your skin and love yourself! I'll share my Summer Make Up Favorites soon... Until next time!
