Good afternoon, everyone! I hope you've all had a wonderful weekend and feel ready to conquer this new week! Well, realistically you're probably feeling pretty groggy and more ready to go back to bed than anywhere else. But if there's one thing that always helps me feel ten times more awake, it's exfoliating!
Exfoliating is something that you should do fairly regularly, but of course not too often, in order to keep your skin looking and feeling fresh. It's best to exfoliate your face and body about two times a week. When you overdo it on the scrubbing, your skin might experience redness or irritation. There are different levels of exfoliating intensity which you may want to consider if you have sensitive skin or just want to tone down your exfoliating routine.
Different kinds of exfoliants include, but are not limited to: salt, baking soda, oatmeal, and coffee. People with sensitive skin will benefit from oatmeal or coffee as their base because both are effective and have low likelihoods of irritation. I prefer salt, because although my skin is sensitive, it can take a little harsher exfoliating. I've never experimented with coffee before...
... Until now! I was thrilled when Beverly to 5th allowed me to try out their premium Vanilla Coffee Scrub. Beverly to 5th is a natural, cruelty-free LA based brand that sells exfoliating products. Right now, they have the Vanilla Coffee Scrub and Coconut Coffee scrub available on their website.
I used this scrub twice a week for two weeks and noticed my skin felt smooth throughout the day! It had a subtle smell and I'll admit I was worried before I opened it. I don't like the smell of coffee at all, but this scrub didn't feel like I was in a Starbucks (or around my mom when she's making her iced coffee). It was faint enough for me to know it was natural, but not overpowering.
I don't even see this as pampering myself because exfoliating is necessary! If you don't have a coffee scrub, there are plenty of alternatives like exfoliating shower towels, loofahs, and body sugar scrubs. I don't suggest using sugar on your face, but for your body it's generally fine.
I would definitely recommend Beverly to 5th for premium exfoliating scrubs. It was an honor to try out their products, I hope you have the chance to do so too! Have a great week, everyone.
