Happy August 1st, everybody! It's a new month and that means it's time to set new goals. I wanted to talk about manifesting your intentions so that you can bring all that you need into your life. I talk about manifesting a lot, because it is a practice that has immense power and significance in my life. Manifesting, when done consciously to bring something into your life, is the act of being intentional and purposeful. In short, our thoughts and emotions have the ability to send energy to anything and anyone. When we think, "I'll never have time to start [x], I just can't do it," the Universe sends that energy back to us. Our thoughts have the power to shape our lives! So why not learn how to focus that power and use it for good?
What To Manifest?
If you had the ability to will whatever you wanted into your life, what would you do first? Some of us would say money, happiness, or success. But what does something as broad as "success" look like? We not only have to ask ourselves what it is that we specifically want, but we need to reconsider what we actually need. We should practice manifestation only for the things that will benefit us; for example, trying to bring "fame and fortune" into our lives might sound like a good idea, but when we discover that it might have to come at the expense of our privacy or morals, we'll soon learn that "fame and fortune" in a general sense will not serve us.
Sit quietly for a few minutes. You can close your eyes to put yourself in a meditative state or sit with a journal and jot down some of your thoughts as they come. Think about what would really make you happy. Is it solitude? Safety? Being able to love yourself? The ability to forgive and let go of the negative or painful memories that hold you down? Now imagine yourself doing that thing and finally achieving happiness. That is what you truly want and need.
More often than not, we all desire to be free of stress, anxieties around what other people think of us, the chase for financial success, and unnecessary responsibilities. We desire to exist as peaceful, loving beings because that is our true nature.
Now that you have an idea of what you want to bring into your life, whether it be happiness, companionship, healing, or abundance of love and joy, let's start manifesting!
How to Manifest
Manifesting is all about being intentional and having faith in not only the Universe's abilities, but your own. Returning to the thing(s) that you decided you want out of life, try turning that into a intention, mantra or affirmation. For example, if you said that you wanted to be free of your old self, you could rephrase that to "I am constantly changing and growing" or "I will create new realities for myself every day." Try to use the present tense and phrases like "I am" or "I will." This will ensure that you are affirming the positive thus welcoming abundance, rather than saying what you don't want.
In short, this phrase is representative of the energies you want to put out into the Universe and receive in return.
Here are some ways that you can use that mantra, intention or affirmation:
- Write in on a whiteboard or piece of paper, post it somewhere you'll see it every day
- Repeat it to yourself during meditation
- Use a graphic designer like Canva and turn it into your phone or laptop wallpaper
- Set the intention to your crystals by sending those thoughts into the crystal to absorb
- Write it on a post-it note and stick it to the bottom of your plate. Continue to think about the intention when you eat.
Putting it All Together
Manifestation is a powerful tool when we learn how to focus our thoughts. Remember to consciously imagine yourself experiencing the intention that you set for yourself. Instead of mindlessly repeating, "I will experience happiness this week," try imagining yourself doing the things that will bring you happiness. Visualize yourself doing yoga, laughing with friends, enjoying solitude, or doing whatever it is that truly warms your heart. The more focus and intention that you express, the more powerful the practice becomes.
I hope you all found this helpful and are now eager to try manifesting great things into your lives. Shoot me an email at email@example.com if you have any questions. Love and light to you!
